A little bit about Mugsy:
I have been a bartender for over 11 years. The last six have been in NYC.
I have gained a valuable experience with my job. Learning and reading people.
I have served people from all over the world.
I am starting this blog because I have come to understand and accept that bartenders get a bad rap because we are bartenders. People think that just because we are behind the bar that we are “stuck” or unable to find work anywhere else..
Well I am here to assure you that IS NOT THE CASE..
- We as bartenders work long hours, dealing with all different people at the same time.
- We have to be sharp, aware and in control at all times.
- We are able to take orders, make drinks, serve food, have conversation, and be aware of what is going on all at the same time.
Unlike some that are fit for the corporate world, it takes a special person to take on this job and stick with it. Our reward in the end is not only the money that we walk with at the end of the night..(I promise you that we make a lot more money then some in the corporate world), but its the satisfaction of knowing that people will come back again and again for your company and great service!!
I want this blog to be an outlet and a fun place for people to visit to connect and share stories…because if there is one thing that your friendly bartender has…it’s stories!
